The Old Palace Lodge - Lincoln

gorgeous place, en suite room, incredibly welcoming staff. lovely beds, some excellent tea, a nespresso coffee machine and a kettle in the room. marvellous and gorgeous position so close to everything we wanted to see.

It takes 10 mins by foot to the bus stop.

Lovely room, fine location, with comfortable pillows and a delicious breakfast experience in a beautifully designed dining area that includes lovely stained glass windows.

The hotel was quaint and unique and I liked the streets of Lincoln. All the employees were pleasant. This accommodation was in the very central location near the Castle. Stopped by Bunty's Tearoom to get some coffee and treats, it's a minute walk from the venue, recommend. Had a fantastic time.

My suite was impressive, really enjoyed it.

Beautiful building, great location

We loved the location and our room which was exactly as we requested, Lincoln Cathedral was right outside our window and looked spectacular lit up at night. Fabulous breakfast with friendly and helpful staff.

Lack of parking - there are not enough spaces in the grounds if the hotel is busy. Also no checks that we could see on unauthorised cars. We parked on grass by the ruins as other cars were already there. On our return there was a note under our wipers to ask us not to park there as it was not part of the hotel facility. There were no signs to that effect. Not a major grumble though, the pluses of the Old Palace overwhelmed this minor problem. It would not stop us staying there again.

As the lodge was 'outside' the main building, we got a bit damp going over to the main building for breakfast. Perhaps umbrella's for guest use in the lodge drawing room would be helpful

This is a superb hotel in a great location near Lincoln cathedral. Rooms are very pleasant and. The cooked breakfast is wonderful!

Enjoyed the experience. Receptionist (called Kate) was extremely helpful, organised taxi's for my colleague, nothing was too much trouble for her. Breakfast staff were welcoming, very friendly and efficient. Great location for "Steep Hill" and its hostelries. A lovely place overall.

Very difficult to find in the dark! The lack of a proper bar although they are licensed to serve drinks.

The location was fantastic and the reception staff very friendly and helpful.

The dining room was chaotic and supervisor panicked and in appropriately reprimanded staff in public.

The room featured a lovely stone mullioned window that offered excellent views of the hill and cathedral. The breakfast served in the transformed chapel included perfectly poached eggs and a tasty sausage, setting a cozy start to my day.

The attic room got uncomfortably hot . The tap water wasn't drinkable, and while there was filtered water in the fridge, having to trek down two floors for refills was inconvenient. The sticky residue from nearby trees in the car park created a mess that needed cleaning up. Lastly, the unique security system required a code to enter the gate, which can be tricky to manage in the dark while fumbling with a piece of paper and navigating a worn keypad.
